Maximum 3 per group,Two-to–One or One-to-One lessons
For non-swimmers, we will usually teach without the use of armbands as most children of this age will be able to stand and reach the pool floor as it is a constant 1.2 metres in depth. Noodles and floats may be used initially but we would like the older child to learn to use their own buoyancy as soon as possible.
We will teach front and back paddle initially. Once this is mastered we will practice aquatic breathing and introduce breastroke and butterfly, treading water and safe entries.
Children often miss out on learning as sometimes parents have not had the time or funds in their child’s earlier years. They may have had school swimming lessons but missed out on learning to swim due to the larger size of the class. Once an older child or teenager learns to swim other sports will become accessible and holidays become so much more fun. There, is of course always the safety element.
